This was my first live college football game. We got to the stadium to watch pre game warm up and had it was sprinkling off and on and by the time we took the stands it was getting more frequent. So game pictures are few and this is about the best I have of #5 my gf's grandson. He is a running back and made 2 touchdowns, which unfortunately were called back because of errors made by others. It was so much fun but sitting in an open stadium under pouring rain (which we did for about 2 hours) not something I want to ever do again. But I screamed it out with the best of them. (Penn St vs Dartmouth)
I can identify with poor weather and sitting in stadium for grandsons...good capture under the circumstances, Joan. Mine is a high school running back. Glad you got to a game!
I doubt I would have lasted sitting through the game in the rain. You certainly captured action in this shot!
OK -- so, get pushed partner, I have had a great time looking back through your albums (and thanks for putting a link to all the shots you've tagged as your get pushed shots!) I don't think I see that you've tried any forced perspective, (though I may have missed it in my quick look through all of your three albums) so why don't you have a go at that -- and hopefully have some fun with it. I look forward to seeing what challenge you come up with for me.
I love college football. Please tell me they beat Penn State? They used to be one of out big rivals, but WVU doesn't play them any more. Great capture.
Great shot of your grandson on the move; that's quite a feat! Sports photography can be so invigorating. I had fun photographing my nephew's flag football game this Fall (which of course is much different from college football)...It was so upsetting to see him lose out on a touchdown when the other little team resorted to tackling him when they couldn't grab his flag, so I know how you must feel about your grandson's scores being taken back. Miss staying in touch with you and my 365 friends, just back periodically....Take care! ;)
I remember just last year seeing my first live hockey game with "les canadiens de Montréal" playing St-Louis. I cried when les canadiens came onto the ice. Here, "hockey is religion" as the old saying goes...impossible to think I had never seen a hockey game until then!
