Sorry very behind on commenting. Today we went to a lot of wonderful places in and around Greater Portland including some parks, lighthouses and a duck pond. Saw this feather floating on the water and had to try to capture it with my Tameron lens.
I presume something big and hungry came up from the depths and ate the rest! (I once watched a large pike devour an entire brood of ducklings one-by-one leaving poor mama duck bereft of her family in the space of five minutes.) Nicely composed this.
If only it were on a mirror it would fit the new mundane challenge -- and it still could as the pond is like a mirror. It's a beautiful scene, with great use of space!
It's quite mysterious -- at first I thought it was suspended in air, then I realized it was a reflection, and even after I read your description, I couldn't figure out the matte of the water surface.
