This is Millie-B which is a replica of a 1928 Hacker Craft. This is a twenty-eight foot, mahogany triple cock-pit “woodie”. My husband and I took a ride on it a few years ago and it was the most elegant boat ride I have ever taken.
My get-pushed partner gave me an option of taking an "elegant" picture. Truly this is elegant. Would any of the guys disagree with me? So today when I got a wish to eat lunch by the water off we went to the Wolfeboro Dockside Grille. Food is pretty good especially the blueberry muffins (we brought two home to have for breakfast). Got lots of pictures I will put up the rest of the week of other boats, ducks, cars and people. But for a moment why don't you imagine yourself on this boat (hope you don't mind getting wet when we get up to speed).
@myhrhelper I chose to do elegant. As I may be without internet for a few days over the weekend I wanted to get this done now. Not sure if you would agree this is elegant but I do.
Yes Joan, this speaks of an age when a certain segment of society lived a lifestyle that was elegance personified. It looks a little anachronistic these days... but that doesn't mean I wouldn't jump at the chance to have a ride on it! Nice capture.
Looks a beautiful old boat :) Thank you so much Joan for your kind and caring words on the loss of my dear friend Sam. I'm so overwhelmed by the care shown here on 365 from "virtual" friends around the world. it is helping me to cope with my sadness. Thanks. xx
