@summerfield challenged me to a photo using @northy's "desperate measure" theme. Challenge me to @northy and I am desperate. First off the room I use for inside photography has been turned into a guest bedroom for my sister for the summer. And because of all my sister and I get up to on my days off (Gosh I could sleep for a week if Two would let me), I only have the mornings before I go to work to do this. She seems to use what she has and so I sort of did too. My off-white blanket for a back ground, the mirror I had in my room for another challenge, this box which holds my bangles, and of course my camera. The camera looks into the mirror to take a picture. (Did purposely pull the strap so you would see the name.) For light I used a flashlight which I dropped on the floor (sorry sis not a pleasant sound at 5 a.m.) not once but twice. Then I brushed in lightroom the background black and in PS flipped so you could read both Nikons. Then fix breakfast, pack my lunch, and do a few dishes up. Off to a quiet day at work - thank goodness.
@summerfield here is my first attempt using @northy theme "desperate measures." Hope I might get a second try but not promising.

I think you are very brave taking on this challenge! Desperate measures of course, could mean lots! Good ad for Nikon!

@ribbet9 Have I not mentioned before that I am a klutz?

For all that creative effort, you got a super cool picture!

For the effort alone, you'd get a fav, but I do like the outcome and it is reminiscent of @northy 's work. Well done!

Fabulous!

You are brave! I don't think I could imitate a Northy shot if I tried even by copying exactly one of her amazing shots! Bravo!!

ok guys... i'm gonna crawl under a table and just pretend i don't exist ;p trust me - i'm not "all that"! But this is a lovely low key shot and i particularly like the cant of the camera giving it a quizzical air :)

Your story is such a rich part of your effort! And I empathize completely.

@northy I can't get the foot off it for my tripod. So it tilts I tried to compensate but oh well.

You've achieved a very dramatic/misterious feel with these surrounding black background around the camera. What histories will tell us withbtheir captured images ?
September 24th, 2015
Awesome creative shot.

You get a Fav for doing this before 5am in the morning!

i'm thinking we should contact the nikon marketing peeps and show them a creative way to promote their camera! :-) very nice, i like it! and i an rather intrigue at the technique of 'brushing' a white background into a dark background.

@summerfield If you have lightroom then use the brush to cover the area you want to and you just lower the exposure and you quickly get back also helps to do decrease highlights and increase shadows. I think @northy has done this before too. I think she said in a comment that we should assume she had a black background. Glad you liked my response. Wanted to do another one but just didn't have the energy this weekend after some family drama.
