Bodie Island Lighthouse by joansmor

Bodie Island Lighthouse

I am planning to post pictures from my fun summer with my sister. We did so many adventures that I am still processing pictures. I think if I use one each Thursday for a while it will force me into processing these pictures. So I am doing a flashback Thursday for a while. This is from the Outer Banks the place we stopped on the way up from Florida. I had trouble with haze on some of these pictures but when I downloaded the newest LR and there was a dehaze slider I was able to rescue a few pictures. This is a little etsooi.
Makes me miss New England Joan! A little too hot down here for my taste.

@kerfree I lived in the Florida in the 70's and I loved it at first but eventually I had to move back to Maine. I will not move to Florida (though the idea of spending a month there in the winter is appealing) and my sister won't move back to Maine.

@kerfree How lovely to see you here Kerry! Say hi to Andie for me, please!

Joan, I think you're very smart to create the album you want with photo memories from such a happy time! You'll love looking back through them in the future!

Brings back memories of the Outer Banks when I would camp there back in the 1970s. I remember the grasses, lighthouse, and sense of flatness.

Lovely landscape, and a great idea for making Thursday a throwback day. I am a big fan of the dehaze slider as well.

Love all the layers leading up to the lighthouse ...

I like the way the sky turned out -- like a wash of watercolor paints.

@olivetreeann If you have time let me know when you are coming. If I can I would love to show you some lovely lighthouses in my area.

@joansmor I will do that- what is the best time of year weather wise? My b-day is at the end of May but I don't have to travel exactly on the same days surrounding my birthday.

@olivetreeann I like spring because the tourist aren't overwhelming. Come around your birthday (my dh's birthday was late may). Wait for the kids to get out of school and you will be sorry. In Portland I could take you to get 6 lighthouses, the Portland Observatory, take a boat ride to an island or around islands. When all the 365's visit the get bits but not the whole enchilada.

@joansmor Sounds good- I'm putting my thinking cap on!
