Shapes with a touch of Star Wars

I went to the farm my gf, Yvon, and her dh are remodeling hoping to move in later this year. Then he gets to have his horses at his place. It was a great time to capture some pictures that weren't landscapes. This is by far my favorite of the day and I can't tell you why. Not sure if it will appeal to anyone else either. But I did watch that posting on composition and it talked about shapes and vanishing points and think that is what is partially working here. Then Yvon said I should move the shop vac. But kinda reminded me of R2D2. Okay call me crazy - won't be the first time. Liked it in color but when I turned it bw it really worked for me. There is a skylight in the ceiling that causes a diffusion of the light which I choose to push in my processing. I processed this in HDR Pro and then in LR.
I love working with natural light so the light in this is very appealing to me. I think the triangular shape of the ladder gives the shot a strong base which gets counterbalanced by the airiness of the room. And R2D2 looks fabulous!

The ladder is so tall when I would expect it to be about 5 ft. tall. It all has a mysterious feel to it. That's a good thing to have.

Definitely right out of Star Wars!! Little robot hiding under the protection of the long legged ladder.

Love your analogy - how clever to make that comparison - we can all relate to that! Like your lighting in this.

Ok, I'll have to give that video a full run. :) I bookmarked it. Funny, I drove around tonight looking for a landscape to take!!

That ladder is so tall or the ceiling is low. Really makes you wonder . B&W really works.

Ladder, door, shopvac robot - it looks very abstract.

@kt8ird Wish we lived close enough to go out together - you could help me with portraits and I would show you a few good landscapes. Watch the video.

Ha ha! Love this. One year, in the midst of remodeling, we used our ladder for our Christmas tree ;)

I like this one. Love the crispness of the items in the center and the diffusion of light around the room
