One last time by joansmor

One last time

I went into Rufus. Officially I am working for them a few hours a week as a bookkeeper. Standing in the back is Katie Moody, Bill Moody, Susan Moody, and Ken (Katie's husband). Seated is Da LaBrie. Bill was President of Rufus Deering and Dan was senior VP. These are the two men I reported during my over 20 years with the company. It is probably the last time they will all be together in this office which for many years served as the office of their father. I am trying to document all the changes happening as Rufus Dering closes it's door. The lumber business is closed but there is some collections etc, that still need to be done. But the rental property will remain in the family business. The final sale of the land on which the lumber company sat will happen in the fall. Only wish I was a better people photographer. Thank you Moody's for giving me a job that challenged me.
Nice group shot

Happy times... good group photo, Funny how there is always one looking in a different direction! Maybe she was the one who could be relied upon to 'think outside the box'?

Pleased you succeeded in getting a happy shot; so many work photos don't seem to ring true. I hope you'll be able to keep the contact.

Enjoyed reading about the company - seems you worked with - rather than for - a fun family. The picture is great - and b&w was perfect. Hope they got a copy of it!

So good that you are recording the changes. And, no worries about your skills - you are doing justice to the history. And, so nice to read the narrative that goes with it.

Despite the closing of the doors, this group share a sense of happiness from their expressions. It must feel bittersweet.
