The ducks are migrating. I find these Ring-necked ducks so interesting because I cannot see a ring on their necks but their bills are so distinctive. This morning in No. 1 pond besides these ducks I saw the hooded mergansers, Canadian geese and mallards. I found some male turkey's with their tail feathers fully spread but not one of the pictures came out very good. Poor lighting where I took them.
those orange staring looking eyes really stand out against the darker feathers.. i like the wiggly reflection and it's colours too.. they add some warmth to a cold looking day. the composition's neat too, with the ducks playing 'follow the leader'
They do have amazing bills... still looks very cold though. You won't be happy to hear that it was 24C in the shade here today... and a lot hotter in full sun - I got my head sunburned!
@vignouse We are having a coiuple of super days about 18c today and maybe 24c tomorrow and then we return to seasonalbe weather with about 11c. But even the lows will be above or at freezing for the next several days. Bye Bye snow
@salza Sally over 3 years of doing this and it would be hard for you to come up with something I hadn't tried or didn't know about. And this I have tried a few times. It's an easy one so let me see if I can come up with something clever.
I hope you are happy with the challenge.
