A sad affair

You have seen the mills as a subject of my project many a time. Well one of them burned this weekend. I did not rush to take pictures while it was burning but went by this morning to see how close I could safely get. This building is in danger of collapsing. It will change the look of the mill pictures I post. Three boys have been arrested for arson.
Oh dear that is sad

Oh my. So sorry for all the jobs lost.
June 27th, 2017
Wow, that is sad. It will really change the way things look.

I actually saw this on the news in Boston last night. Very sad.

Tom
Great capture of a sad happening

Your capture of history has been wonderful Rather sad that it ends this way. Those boys better get more than a slap on the wrist for this!

This is such a sad end to the productive life of this building.. folk out of work and hardship nipping at heels.. All because of some selfish and irresponsible behaviour.
i hope they put them away for quite some time..
Btw, it IS a good shot, great perspective and detail..

Very sharp shot but so sad

How sad :)

@louannwarren @jorlam had been empty for at last 30 years, The textile mills moved south years ago.

@joansmor That's a different complexion but still a waste of a good building.. AND so thoughtless and a thoroughly dangerous thing to do.. animals/humans could have been sheltering in there.
Firefighters have enough dangerous jobs to attend without mindless morons adding to the difficulties, totally unnecessary..

oops, will get off my high horse now.. 😊
June 27th, 2017
@joansmor Ah! Well that makes the fire easier to bare then.

@joansmor
I wonder if we only realise how attached we are to buildings when we have them no more. It's one thing for a building to be demolished in the interests of health and/or safety. Wanton destruction, endangering our environment, homes, workplaces, leisure sites etc. is an activity that needs must be punished. No high horse, rather justifiable disappointment in humanity.

Get Pushed? Howzabout something of your Scrapping activity? Am thinking more about the process, choices, assembly etc. rather than a finished product. Say No with impunity, and I'll whisk up,something else;-)
June 27th, 2017
@s4sayer Okay maybe a few showing how I assemble and at the end a fiinished product.

@joansmor
How or what, Joan, is in your gift. I can change the 'gift' if you wish.
June 27th, 2017
A sad end to the building. Nice capture of the aftermath.
June 27th, 2017
Such a selfish and senseless act of vandalism :(
June 27th, 2017
Such a sad waste, I hope the vandals get their just desserts.
June 27th, 2017
How people can even contemplate doing something like this is beyond my comprehension. I hope they get more than a slap on the wrist
June 27th, 2017
@s4sayer I love the challenge you gave me. see tonight as I start.
June 27th, 2017
@joansmor
Am pleased that you like your challenge...particularly as it'll be an opportunity for you to share your other talents to an interested audience.
