@vignouse is my mentor is and about the same time @s4sayer (his wife) posted the firsherman he posted a beautiful butterfly. And there was a butterfly mine isn't as good it flitted around and the breeze blew at it. But so far my only one this year. Mine is a tiger swallowtail.
This is good - it's markings and colouring are more striking than mine and I was lucky that it opened its wings fully, something they don't often do when feeding so as to be less conspicuous.
@jqf Every year I seem to capture a different species. I have seen this tiger swallowtail on may of my outings this year like it was chasing me down to be photographed. I have even seen it in my backyard. How I got it with the wind blowing is a mystery to me. Aren't some pictures just destined to be. There are Swallow tails in Great Britain but not the Tiger which is a North American.
Love this particular swallowtail - we get them in different spots around here - but not in my backyard! Wouldn't that be a dream. Lovely against that green.
