I was showing off a tad for Jane, pointing out all the birds that visit my yard - sparrows, gold finches, catbirds, mourning doves, grackles, cowbirds, cardinal, chickadees, bluejays, robins, tted in my niecesand starlings. I spotted a different looking bird. I grabbbed my d7500 with the70 zoom to take a picture and determined it was probably a flicker. They are rare visitors and then grabed my d90 with the 200 Zoom. I dashed out the door the bird moved away. I folllowed. This is the best I got. But I have a flicker in my project . For those noticing this is another off my list.
They're around here too - but not in the yard. Would sure like that! I don't get the cowbirds or grackles - but I can add the downies, red-bellied woodpeckers, mockingbirds, occasionally the titmouse though I've yet to get a decent shot, It's such fun to watch who shows up. Do hope your flicker makes a return trip.
Congrats on getting a photo of this wonderful bird -- how exciting! We have the yellow-shafted Northern flickers in my area; it is always a treat to see them!
Congrats!
