Ok I have a 35mm prime lens so I thought I would try @vignouse's challenge. Oh I so want to edit this. I have a couple of questions. 1 is my 35mm Nikon Prime a 50 mm equivalent. 2- why when I down load the raws did they display in color rather than the bw I took and they appeared before downloading . The jpegs didn't
I think the raw photos display incolor because the camera has all the color info. The JPEG has been edited by the camera discarding the color info. I have a full frame camera and am using 50mm. Am I wrong? @vignouse
@jgpittenger@joansmor Hello Jane and Joan - yes 35mm on an APS-C sensor (like on the D7500) is the equvalent of 50mm on a full-frame camera and thus effectively a 'nifty-fifty'.
RAW files will always contain the full range of captured information and thus appear in colour - Jane's explanation is spot on.
And finally Joan... I like the elegant simplicity of this image.
I found it a little confusing when I first started using lightroom, seeing my black and white images upload in colour. Thought I was going mad at first :-) This is a lovely scene. Liking the little lighthouse :-)
