sooc-i HATE IT

Ok I have a 35mm prime lens so I thought I would try @vignouse's challenge. Oh I so want to edit this. I have a couple of questions. 1 is my 35mm Nikon Prime a 50 mm equivalent. 2- why when I down load the raws did they display in color rather than the bw I took and they appeared before downloading . The jpegs didn't
@vignouse and other - long day I am going to bed will review your photos tomorrow

I think the raw photos display incolor because the camera has all the color info. The JPEG has been edited by the camera discarding the color info. I have a full frame camera and am using 50mm. Am I wrong? @vignouse

What a beautiful scene! I can relate to wanting to edit--I always at least crop a little.

Lovely view. Not sure about your questions - sorry!

Well...your questions are good ones. I think on a crop a 35mm is like a 50mm on a full frame. Image came out well re composition and tones.

@jgpittenger @joansmor Hello Jane and Joan - yes 35mm on an APS-C sensor (like on the D7500) is the equvalent of 50mm on a full-frame camera and thus effectively a 'nifty-fifty'.

RAW files will always contain the full range of captured information and thus appear in colour - Jane's explanation is spot on.

And finally Joan... I like the elegant simplicity of this image.

Congratulations for a straight horizon, none of mine ever are and this month is going to force me to correct that.

I really like thus, Joan. It is awesome on black and really looks 3D.

I found it a little confusing when I first started using lightroom, seeing my black and white images upload in colour. Thought I was going mad at first :-) This is a lovely scene. Liking the little lighthouse :-)
