Goddard Mansion

One of the good things about leafless trees is a view of things that are more hidden in the summer. This is true of the Goddard Mansion at Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth. One of the original stately mansion on the coast. Now just a shell of its former self.
It would have been spectacular in its prime.

How does a handsome building like this fall into such repair I always wonder. This would photograph well at dusk I think.

Such a beautiful old home.

This has clearly been a lovely residence, albeit some time ago. Sadly, too many such in evidence.

Very true Joan....lots to see through hedges as you drive along! It can distract you!

I like this view through the trees. Adds so much mystery.

This must have been such a beautiful home in its prime- look at that stonework. So sad it's been abandoned and neglected. But it did make a good shot for you.
