I think these Hairy Woodpeckers because the outside tail feathers are unmarked and the peak is longer. But the baby is on top. I took several pictures of the parents getting food. I say parents because this picture appears to be of the mother I did see the Dad who has a bit of red on the head. I saw my oriole so I know they are still around and the hummer showed up though to fast for me to get a picture but the summer is young yet. This feeder is popular with parents as it has nut butter seed balls which are small. Going for another Monday morning coastal ride but heading south this time. There is fog at the coast and hoping some hangs around for me to get a few photos.
Yes we see a lot of baby birds being fed around our house. mostly blackbirds, sparrows, robins and woodpeckers so far. I like your feeder and see fairy woodpecker for the first time. fav.
Good shot- our Red-headed and Red-bellied are both feeding young birds right now. It gets to be pretty heated at the bird feeder if they both show up at the same time.
