You probably need to look closely to see there are two cows(?) here. Hopefully one of the farmers on here will tell me what they are Cows - Steers-Bulls. They are out most days that I drive home from work and they almost always stand together this closely.
They are cows - female of the bovine species!! Steers are castrated males whereas bulls are intact males. Heifers are young females that have not had babies - and become cows once they give birth.
Probably more information than you wanted!!
I always find it comical when I see a bag of steer manure for sale at a garden centre ... prove that there was no heifer/cow/ or bull poop in that bag! False advertising in my mind - lol!!
Maybe he's hoping to start a herd, or they're rescue animals? There's a farm here that's doing that- rescuing farm animals. Poor things look so sad! But hopefully that will change thanks to their new home.
"Saving up" and figuring out hours- hoping to plan a trip in the Fall. There are a few family trips that will take place first and possibly a special trip for Jeff and I, but a long weekend will probably work out quite nicely (and please do not feel you have to rearrange your work schedule for me if it works out!).
@olivetreeann Not rescue as they have been there as long as I have been going to work at my current job which is 18 months. And I am excited to have you come visit.
@joansmor
The black and white ones you are used to seeing are dairy (milk) cows and they would all be cows
These are beef cows - bred for meat. They look like the Angus breed.
