This is an X-ray showing all the metal in my foot. Some was there from having broken the ankle twice before. I got the boot today instead of a new cast and I can Walk some. I will discuss with my PT tomorrow about how much I should walk and how much I should use the wheel chair. And How to exercise to get my foot stretched out so I can drive.
Wow! That some metalwork, mine is bad enough but I know what it feels like and you are right it is like lead! Mine has 3 pins and screws but I still have my ankle although not good. Wishing you a speedy recovery you are on the home straight now!!
@vignouse I was born with this condition which just deteriorated until I had a shuffle not unlike the Hunchback of Notre Dame, I have no arch on either foot and the Achilles Heal Tendon on the right kept tightening and pulling the right foot to be perpendicular to the left, So the broke the ankle and rotated it, removed an ugly arthritic knot over the knuckle of my big toe, and the Achilles heel tendon was cut and lengthened. Because I leave alone I had to go to rehab for three weeks and learn to get around on my own. Now I have a boot on and can begin puting gentle pressure on the right leg. I have to stretch my right ankle so I can reain the ability to drive with at least a pumping action but will never move that foot side to side again.
Glad you're on the mend.
