scrapbooking day 3 by joansmor

scrapbooking day 3

I have been challenged to show how I go about doing a scrap page. I have tried two different ways here but both using the same method. I took one picture from day 1 and enlarged it then I took a paper from a kit - Christmas Wishes –Kristen Cronin-Barrow. I placed this in a layer above the picture and lowered the opacity so I could see the picture below. Then I added a mask to the paper layer. I used the gradient tool with a black to white linear gradient. I drag a line from the left edge or bottom edge to almost the edge of the picture. As you probably know black conceals and white reveals so the black concealed the paper thus revealing the photo below. I then increased the paper layer back to 100%. And because I stopped before I got to the edge of the photo you don't see the hard edge of the photo and it just gradually turns into the paper. On the page on the left I took a picture from Linda Sattgast and removed the middle to make a frame and placed the picture in the middle. Will be happy to listen to peoples thoughts on this and tomorrow I will add so elements and maybe some journaling.

The one on the right is the one for me Joan: I find the one on the left too fussy and a bit contrived.

@vignouse @joansmor I agree but then I tend to be a minimalist in my scrapbooking. Mostly because I just can't make it work. Some people are just so good at adding lots of stuff and making it work.
