Originally I was going to make this my main photo but if you look you'll see the focus is off. I had just left my house and stopped at a stop sign. No one was around but I rushed it because I didn't want to hold anyone up who might come along. But you will see the temperature is a lovely 39f and the time is 5:44, the skies are dreary and I think you can see it is rainy. Welcome to the first day of May. Of course being the first day of the month I have to go to work 2 hours early to do statements. I did however leave 50 minutes early. LOL Anyone want to move to Maine.
@vignouse Yesterday when I was working and fighting with the boss on my day off you almost had your wish. But Most days I serious love my job. Only 3 years, 34 weeks and 1 day until retirement but not really counting.
You're not going to retire until you're 70? All joking apart, I'm seriously sorry that your circumstances need you to this. I would like to say more but it's not a conversation for the comment stream.
@vignouse I could find a way to retire now but it would mean giving up to many things. But I love working - I love it and hate it. I worked a lot of jobs that lasted 5 years tops and then I was bored. 18 years with this one and still not bored. I like not being bored. What I am saying is even though I complain (a lot sometimes) I am happy and not ready for retirement. I get anzy when I stay home too long. So give me tea and sympathy when I complain but don't feel sorry for me I am where I want to be and when I am ready I'll take the next step. My mother gave me the gift of knowing I could take care of my self no matter what.
Loving our weather...not to rub it in of course. We are in for a cool down to the 60's and showers/rain for the week end. We have to enjoy it while we can. Afraid I wouldn't do well in Maine...except I would love to visit!!
I'm the same about work, don't particularly enjoy it but the university is a very sociable place and I've made lots of friends there and would miss that. We had a very wet day here too if it makes you feel any better.
@debbie3108 Do you do like me, you complain and then you feel better. It's a way of letting the stress go. I think a challenging job has stress. Because my boring jobs never did.
Are you listening?
