Woke up this morning to another 4 inches. So taking mentor's wise advice and doing a little reportage photography. What I don't have a picture of is the white out conditions I drove half the way home in. Think I'll go grab a little whisky know mentor would approve of that.
You get 10/10 for the whisky notion (I'm sipping mine as I type), but you lose 4 points for failing to remove the sensor spots and another 4 for not using exposure compensation to correct the exposure for the snow... doh!!
@vignouse I don't think they are sensor spots I think they are window spots. I used a brush on the snow because I was trying to bring out some detail. My bad Snow is miserable to photograph and get detail. I just wanted to post before I fell asleep (or maybe I just wanted to get to the whisky).
@joansmor Ah, I should have realised from the PoV that you were photographing from inside the house - I guess I just thought you were out on the stoop. I'm intrigued that, compared to the huge piles on the ground, there is relatively little snow on the rooftops of the houses. The thaw, when it comes, is going to be awfully messy methinks. At least you won't have your commute to do for the next couple of days... keep warm!
I for one am happy that you focused on driving and not photographing the whiteout conditions. The dimness of the picture sets a gloomy mood. Now we know why people hole up and paint little wooden lighthouses all winter.
