Beach closed

I went to Manly Beach to photograph surfers on boards! The surf was too bad for surfing.

It wasn’t so much the size of the waves that closed the beach. It was the unseen and very nasty currents.

It was closed for swimmers. You could paddle on the edge if you wanted. Surfboard riders can always go out but today there were only two in about 2km of beach. The surf was just not very good.

I didn’t stay to watch them but it’s quite common to paddle in the shallow end if the ocean. I’m sure they were ok. I hope.
