The color teal ebbs and flows in popularity. Almost everywhere when I got married(30+ years ago) but, now not so much.
I was able to get to the canyon last week for a daytime moon rise. It was such a gift to be able to get away. The usual crowds weren't there and had this spot (Navajo Point) to myself a few times while others came, said ooh-ahhh, and then left. The Grand Canyon for me has such beauty that I can only dream of being able to capture its magnificence with a camera.
I really like this image, the colors of the rock compliment the blue sky and teal moon so well. I also like the texture contrast of the hill, old stone building and the sky.
Wonderful shot. Never been to the Grand Canyon and I regret it. Before Covid hit I thought there was a chance I’d make it while I was still spry enough to take full advantage of the opportunity but now, with all the present travel restrictions and my annoying health issues, I’ve had to admit that it might not happen. Glad to enjoy the images you and other photographers present.
It was interesting to see your tag for the IR. These are such wonderful tones - IR photos seem to be able to have such variable outcomes - all just nicely slightly surreal. I love this one :)
So very thankful and grateful for your kind and supportive comments. This is a capture of the Desert Watchtower though anyone can get visit it since the south entrance (the primary gate) is completely open. It does take a bit a driving since is at the eastern entrance (currently closed due to covid-19 on the Navajo Nation) but, so worth the trip. It was designed by Mary Colter ( https://www.nps.gov/grca/learn/photosmultimedia/mary-colter---indian-watchtower.htm ).
The IR has really caused some interesting coloring here- I like it! (I inherited a teal countertop when we bought our house. We couldn't afford to replace it so I've managed to put other colors around it that make it look like we picked it out on purpose!)
