This is the corner in Flagstaff (Rt 66 & Switzer Canyon Dr) where Jackson Browne's truck broke down and he started to write a song. It was a Der Wienerchitzel back then. The late Glenn Frey lived in the same building in Los Angeles as Browne and suggested Winslow be used instead of Flagstaff and finished writing the song. It was a hit, but poor Flagstaff lost its 2nd bit of song fame(1st being 'Get Your Kicks on Rt66' by Bobby Troupe) to a town 50 miles east. There is a cool spot in Winslow that all should see ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standin%27_on_the_Corner_Park) which is very well done. I got caught on the corner waiting for the light and snapped a fish-eye.
@overalvandaan Thanks you, I didn't know that story until I researched Route 66. It is the 90th anniversary of the road this November. The lens is fun to play with. @cjphoto Thank you, the curve seemed to fit, my bug is curved too.
@jack4john Actually Flagstaff was smaller then, it isn't going to be much longer is our current council continues to destroy our quirky town and make it into a petite Phoenix- uggggg!
@jack4john You need those glasses to see this place anymore. At least the song will not change- :) @megpicatilly Thank you, There are a few cool things left around here.
