My favorite tree (fka El Diablo) guards a hill that I often walk down and up. The grade is steep but the 'ugly part' is only about 1/4m (.4km) long but, the down and back up makes me think twice each time.
@jack4john Thank you, the trails around town are just amazing. They are called FUTS Flagstaff Urban Trail System. We are blessed with a natural wonders in abundance.
@cjphoto I can't take credit for the tree but I have always liked the shape of it. It was getting ready to snow so it was dark and gloomy - now it is white and snow covered.

@deborah63 Thank you, this tree and I have done battle before, the most recent is ( http://365project.org/joysabin/365/2017-02-02). I did see a similar tree up at a trail at the north rim of the Grand Canyon so, I guess its has cousins, :):)
