Wild Day 22 by joysabin

Wild Day 22

They opened the highway yesterday. I made it up today to see what the fire had wrought. It seems that all trails are closed so I could only look from a distance. The fire still burns (11,540acres so far) but the smoke is down some, I hope and pray for rain.
Outstanding on black, love the processing

@graemestevens Most gracious and very much appreciated. I got back, sorta, to my fav spot. There still is a great deal of smoke yet but they are letting nature take its course which does get rid of the old dead trees.

Fire is such a shame. It's such pretty country up there.

@mbrutus Fire is one way to re-start things but a tough one to stomach.

@yrhenwr Thank you very kindly for the fav, just behind me on the highway, the smoke was very thick. I feel and pray for the safety of the brave men and women who are battling this and others around the west.

@overalvandaan You are most kind, thank you. I am amazed that the Mt. Humphreys still has snow in spots, that's those white areas near the top.

I sure hope it rains soon. I can't imagine how distressing it must be, not just for the people it affects but also for all the wildlife.

@stephanies The wildlife does have a great deal of options- it is somewhat remote but, then Flagstaff is in the middle of nowhere to start with.

@ukandie1 Thank you so very much, I hope that since the smoke wasn't as noticeable today the trails will open again soon.

@lizhammond Thank you so very kindly for the fav. I really like how IR gives such great textures when you go mono with it.
