I've been trying to capture this for a while but the light just hasn't cooperated. Today it did. I am also reminded of the Simon and Garfunkle song ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eo2ZsAOlvEM ) which is one of my favorites.
The interesting bit is that on the opposite side it states "no firearms are to be discharged in this area" Some of my fellow countryman feel that guns are to be allowed everywhere and at anytime. I have issues with that philosophy. Sorry,I'll step back down off my soapbox...
Several year ago my older son and I vacationed for a week in Galveston. One evening we went into a Mexican style restaurant for dinner and, on the reception desk, saw a sign that asked patrons to please leave their guns at the desk. Being from Canada, and blissfully unaware of the widely felt American need to carry fire arms at all times, we thought it was a joke referencing the Wild West decor of the restaurant, and made some comment to the hostess about, “oh yeah sure, let me just get my gun out of my purse, ha ha!” Only to realize it was no joke.
Great find! ...and such a sad state of affairs that guns are more important than education to so many of 'Murcans. Oops, took a step onto that soapbox. My bad
@gardencat It is almost nothing short of an embarrassment about the firearm attitude here. I think the the comic character Pogo said it best "we have met the enemy and he is us" ( https://library.osu.edu/site/40stories/2020/01/05/we-have-met-the-enemy/ ). I wish things were different here....
Truly most grateful, thank you kindly.
