These little fungi ( Mycena haematopus, commonly known as the bleeding fairy helmet ) are about 1 inch tall. They are growing on my moss covered fence.
I was using a 36mm extension tube, hand held, must learn to grab the tripod.
These are beautiful, tiny, things. I've kind of given up on using a tripod outdoors, unless it is right in my own back yard, Just don't have the stamina to take one out on a walk anymore. Sometimes, if you can find a nearby tree or wall to brace yourself against it helps.
( Love the little strings of web with the droplets. )
The composition works so beautifully! A tripod would help keep the focus on the mushrooms so might be worth it. Mushrooms are my next autumn photo project -- intriguing. I've bought a little pop up stool to sit on while I try.

I am rather surprised at the response to these little ones. Thank you all so very kindly. They did remind me of ballerinas taking shelter in a storm.
