Oldest item in my wardrobe

This week’s task for photo group was to photograph the oldest item in my wardrobe.
For me this is my ‘Union Jack’ waistcoat bought to wear at my first live Eurovision Birmingham 1998.
I wore it at every subsequent live contest I attended & @ Athens 2006 my friend and I ended up featured in the Daily Express described as ‘representing the lunatic fringe of Britain’.
Wearing or even wearing a ‘Union Jack’ is generally seen as a contested symbol of expression more likely to divide than unite.
However at Eurovision this is not the case wearing or waving a national flag merely signals where you are from or which song you like. Rarely at Eurovision dies anyone flaunt just one flag.
Eurovision 2020 is cancelled - so no trip to Rotterdam. Will the Union be intact by next Eurovision? Maybe it’s time the Union Jack Waistcoat was removed from the wardrobe??
