Another lovely little wild flower. Only small (about 1cm across) but very bright so it shows up despite it being so short amongst the long grass. It's sometimes known as Poorman’s Barometer because the flowers close up as the atmospheric pressure decreases when bad weather is approaching.
Pretty little flower, have never actually seen a scarlet pimpernel around where I live, but would certainly like to. I have never heard of it being a weather forecaster.
