Green Orb Spider - Araniella cucurbitina

Apologies to all arachnophobes! I just enjoyed her bright fluorescent green abdomen ... They are sometimes known as "cucumber green spiders" for obvious reasons and this one was about 6mm long.

@gijsje - I'm not an expert .... but the males are quite a bit smaller so I assume she is a female :)

@katrinastabback - taking a photo means I can examine what they look like much more easily than when they are running about!

@shirleybankfarm - yes the detail makes this one look quite fierce! But she is quite harmless really :)
