Copenhagen

Almost a cliché I know. And a lot of tourists are disappointed that the famous little mermaid statue is so small. But she is still an icon of Denmark and I think she makes a poignant figure sitting there against the wide sea and sky. Copenhagen is our last port of call on our Baltic cruise and we now have two days at sea before we arrive in Southampton and set off home.
Very pretty!

Lovely statue. My daughter, son-in-law and my granddaughter visited Copenhagen a few years ago. And guess what they said about the little mermaid...

I was just posting my own little mermaid photo and I decided to see who else had tagged copenhagen to see how else they might have captured this iconic image! And yours is giving an entire context that does show how small she is -- and yes, the first time I saw her I was shocked and disappointed. Too bad we weren't there at the same time!

@jyokota - just looked up your photo and it's interesting how different it is! You could easily think it was human size or more in that great silhouette.
