Dogwood still blooming! by julienne1

Dogwood still blooming!

It's amazing to see Dogwood still flowering in the wild hedgerows in November, alongside the berries following the usual blossom time of June and July. They make a welcome stopping off point for the butterflies that are still around when the autumn sun manages to burn off the mists.
Lovely contrast between the berries and flowers

Great close up shot. It will not be often this is seen, especially the flowers in November. Great that you have captured this happening.

This mild weather is confusing the plants, keeping Autumn lasting that bit longer

@rickster549 - they do look similar but dogwood berries are very bitter and inedible (though not poisonous I think)

@shirleybankfarm - yes it is strange to see blossom and berries on the same bush

@mbmomentsintime - this Autumn is confusing me let alone the plants! One minute it's so warm I'm wearing a t shirt again and next minute I'm caught up in thick fog and cold downpours drenching me.
