The local nature reserve here at High Ham is covered in these mounds . It means you have to constantly look where you are walking or you tend to do an undignified flying sprawl into the mud (which I have done many times when looking through the viewfinder of my camera instead of where I am putting my feet!) However, they are a valuable natural formation which is much appreciated for winter shelter by lots of the local wildlife
That's really interesting. Was wondering if animals had made them or just used them as a shelter.
