Mangelwurzels emerging!

These hefty mangels almost look as if they are climbing out of the field by themselves! They are being grown as fodder for livestock but in times past they were a staple for human consumption. It's also called field beet and is a sweet vegetable that could be boiled and mashed, or diced and used in stews or curries. The leaves could also be eaten like spinach.
It looks like a secret world!

It's a long time since I have seen any Mangles. Years ago we had a load delivered to feed to the cattle. Nice POV

Sometimes it confuses me that we live in the same country. I've never even heard of these and that pink mushroom, never seen one of them before
