Field Maple by julienne1

Field Maple

To me this looks like some sort of surreal art display, or an alien life form taking off.... However, in reality it's just what Field Maple does in the Spring. The tiny yellow flowers when fertilised then produce these early maple keys that eventually frow into the familiar "helicopters" that children enjoy launching! At the moment though, they are only about a centimeter across.
Nice comp and capture
