Collared Dove - Streptopelia decaocto by julienne1

Collared Dove - Streptopelia decaocto

One of the frequent visitors in my garden. In the 1950's it was a rare sight in the UK but since then their numbers have increased steadily year by year - they are prolific breeders once they find the right niche.
The numbers have grown dramatically even here. In the last 2 - 3 years in particular they seem to have taken to Shetland in good numbers

Beautiful, we get a few collared doves here, but they are rather outnumbered by the crested pigeons.
