Robert burns.. by julzmaioro

Robert burns..

A Red Red Rose...
O, my luve's like a red, red rose,
That newly sprung in June.

O, my luv's like a melodie.
That's sweetly played in tune.

Came across this guy hanging about in The Domain yesterday... had a few words to share...
Terrific capture! So is it a statue of Robert Burns?

Thanks Julia. We have a statue in Camperdown (40 kms away) which was created in 1830 in UK and inherited by W A Taylor who was an early settler here in Western district. He gifted it to Camperdown in 1883 and it was in the Botanical gardens for 125 years. It was vandalized in 2009 so removed and repaired and now sits in the Shire building. The town has a Robert Burns festival every June. Just some trivia after seeing your wonderful statue :) Thanks

@happypat I'm guessing it is just the large Scottish immigrants that we have over here... Christchurch is very 'Scottish'
