In at my Sisters today and the Tui's where really busy in the Kowhai Tree... The blossom of the Kowhai are a favourite and they just go crazy flying in and out and chasing any other bird that happens to land in the tree.. The song of the Tui is particularly beautiful.. they have two voice boxes so they can make two different noises at the same time... The Tui is often called the Parson bird..
This is an amazing capture of these gorgeous birds - I have trying to capture them for days but this is so good. Well done. I know how elusive they can be. I didn't know about the two voice boxes either. Very impressive!
Such a pretty shot, and I love the flower 'necklace!' I bought some Tui bird fabric when I was in NZ earlier this year and have made it into placemats. They remind me of our fabulous holiday there.
