Tui in a Kowhai Tree. by julzmaioro

Tui in a Kowhai Tree.

As we where walking across the carpark the other day at the Hamilton Gardens this Tui was busy eating nectar and singing very loudly.. As they flit around from branch to branch it is very tricky to catch them.. love the contrast of the bright flowers against his dark feathers..
Pretty bird and lovely composition.

@mrslaloggie @graemestevens @quietpurplehaze @karlow75 @tonydebont @quietpurplehaze @thresheg @gilbertwood @dide @onewing @paulaw @elisasaeter Thank you all.. very pleased with this one as they can be tricky.. The Kowhai tree is a native and has pea pod like seeds after the flowers.. it is flowering particuly well at the moment in our native bush..

A spectacular shot, and I have never seen the feathers look so brown - maybe it's a seasonal thing. Anyway it is a big FAV from me.
