Mary's fungus..

I ha..ve had a couple of phone calls from friends to say they have something in their gardens for me to take a photo of.. This is Mary's Fungus unsure what it is but our fellow 365er @ethelperry would probably know what it is .. Has been a bit spoilt with our overnight rain...

Really nice - now that autumn is here, we'll have to have a few outings looking for toadstools and fungus! I wonder if we'll get any mushrooms from the overnight rain?

@dide Had my first feed of 'Field mushrooms' the other day.. so 'swamp' variety...

nicely chosen settings as it would be a bit darker in that part of the garden and close to the ground. Shows the colour and form so well!

If it was an Australian fungus, I would suspect Gymnopilus junionus. It may well be that. Ours grows in clusters around old tree stumps - sometimes along the underground root system
