Spent the day at the local Vintage Machinery ..Crank up/demonstration day.. All the old gear had been greased and polished ready to show all how it was in the 'old day's'.. here is a Threshing Machine getting put through it's paces.. and at the other end where the waste straw was coming out the kids were having a field day jumping in the pile of straw..
The colours in this are really lovely. It looks like a fun day. I've just finished reading Little house in the Big Woods to the kids and it talked about having a threashing machine come and do all the work in a day that would have taken the men weeks to do by hand. Their one would have been even older than this. It was driven by a team of 8 horses attached to a wheel to power the machine!
