Aloe Barberae... by julzmaioro

Aloe Barberae...

I took a walk through the Auckland Botanical Garden's... As we had a very frosty start it was a beautiful clear day.. as we were walking through the South African Garden I saw this Aloe Barberae stood out.. I just love the strong form of this spectacular tree.. It is just starting to get flowers on it so next time I go back hopefully I can capture that..
It looks very sculptural and dwarfs the seat next to it.

A lovely specimen - they always make me think of all those Dr Seuss books I have read to the kids over the years.

Lovely shot and what an interesting tree. Don't think I have ever seen one of these before. It will look lovely with flowers on it too. Do go back and get another shot later.

@pitasmum I agree - there's no doubt that that is it's real botanical name…..
A lovely image, showing off the shape against the nice blue sky.

That doesn't look like the sort of garden that gets a frost! Looks more tropical! I love seeing the changing seasons across the globe through 365. Fav. Soon be "flaming June" here. Its cold and wet.
