Treasures of a Secret Society....

Playing again with my extensions rings.. This time with some medals that were Farmer George's late Uncles .. He belonged to the local Masonic Lodge of which I do not know very much about.. seems to be a bit of a closed door.. but the trinkets and beautiful writing make for a good image..
I don't know much about the Masons either, but this is a beautiful image. Was he a carpenter or a joiner?

What a great collection. David's uncle was Grand Master at this Masonic Lodge, but I know nothing about the masons either.

Ps. I don't know anything hardly about Freemasonery but think I have heard that the ruler is symbolic in some way.

This is a beautiful photo of this collection, it makes for a striking still life. The colour and tones make it timeless looking. From what I have read Masons are a collective of men who are believers but not of a particular religion, who gather, but don't talk about politics or religion, and profess to attempt to lift one another and the society by means of supporting one another endeavours for work, with family, and community deeds. The shriners are an offset of the Masons, they support children's hospitals and pay the medical bills of the families who are patients... that kind of thing.
