Tui ... Portrait...

No chance for a new photo today so thought I would share another shot of our beautiful native bird the Tui .. that we see and hear so much this time of the year as it feeds on all the blossom tree's at the moment .. I love the two pompom's that it wears proudly in it's chest .. because of this it is sometimes called the Parson Bird .. A friend of mine has written and published a book on this beautiful bird and here is the link that you may like to check out http://www.radionz.co.nz/national/programmes/ninetonoon/galleries/tui

It really is a beautiful bird. I wish I'd have managed to get a photo of one while we were in New Zealand. Maybe next time.

@onewing Public Gardens like the Botanical Gardens inManurewa Auckland are a good place to capture them as they are use to lots of people around ... There always seems to be something for them to feed on there..
