I saw today on FB that today is International Camera Day .. ( I have know idea who comes up with these ideas) and the suggestion was made to take a walk around your garden .. As it is the middle of winter here not alot of colour in the garden at the moment but I did find this crop of woody fungi ( I think it is called Bracket fungi) looked prety in the late afternoon light .. I am sure @ethelperry would be able to put us right with proper names..
Awesome fungi image - and yes it is interesting to wonder where there 'international' days come from. It just another excuse ( if we ever need them) to pick up the camera and take it for a walk!
Beautiful, the shot and the light. It certainly is a bracket fungus. It is likely to be Trametes versicolour. The orange worried me a little re identification, as they are more often dull and colours of Browns and tans. This particular fungus grows in many countries of the world. It chooses dead and decaying wood,as your photo confirms.
Wow, this looks an amazing piece of landscape! It could be a big mountain peak, taken from the air. I can see rivers , forests & snowy tipped edges. No way is this a pice of old fungi! Fave!
