Today we attended the local schools Ag day.. Always great to see the kids we their pets putting them through their paces of leading, calling and general care and attention.. Top left is Eilis calling her lamb .. perfectly .. Top right kids just leaving the ring after being presented their ribbons .. Bottom left ... the love between Boy and Goat... Bottom right .. Dad taking a dive to catch a runaway lamb...
It's a great day when all the community comes together ..
Great images. Today we were doing the same sorts of things at the school I work at. Some of the kids were great with their animals and had obviously spent lots of time working with them.
How wonderful , reminds me of our annual village show at home ( in Wales ) where all the agriculture community came together to compete and show off .their animals with also composition in wood crafts , food , cookery , winemaking , needlecrafts , flower arranging , and fruit , veg , and other produce . and fun activities for the children
@beryl The kids have indoor art work as well flowers and veg models .. use to do lots of baking as well but don't seem to door that so much now .. it is a fun day and the hightlight of the year in Rural schools.. We usually have calves as well but there is a bacteria Mircroplasma bovis that has struck many herds in the country so to stop it from spreading farmers are not moving the stock around so much to have contact with other herds..
