Tarawera Ultra Marathon

We went out to support the runners in some pretty shocking weather.. this was taken at about the 40 k mark and it amazed me how strong most runners were looking.. The runner in the black did not run backwards .. they turned 2 k's down the track and retraced their route..

@maggiemae Yes Maggie these athletes kept going regardless of the weather so it was the least I could do..

Weather looks like a big change....wonder if the runners were glad of the rain to cool them down...wind wouldn't help though!!

@ourrube @happypat Thanks for your comments, it was just a gentle rain and no wind at all so good for most runners, though they were pulling runners out before the finish if they thought they should not carry on... Hats off to all these tough guy 'n' girls..

What beautiful scenery for the runners, but I guess they really didn't appreciate it!
