The Manukau Bar..

The other day on our visit to the Lighthouse we were driving away and looked out over the Ocean ( Tasman Sea) and saw this unusual site of storm clouds and bright sunshine high lighting the 'Bar'.. This is a very treacherous bar, and local fisherman treat it with a lot of respect... One of New Zealand worse Maritime disasters happened her with the wreck of the Orpheus in 1863 with the loss of 189 people..
