Mt Ida Station

While travelling in the South Island we were told about a very picturesque lake.. we set off and the road got rougher and rougher and still no sign of the lake,. we decided to turn back as it was getting dark.. we did not feel we missed out as it was amazing landscape.. very moon like and a rabbits playground.. What a view..

I just learnt from my learned friend @dide that these rock stacks are called Cairns .. but the person that made this one must of been pretty strong as they were all quite large and heavy.. @thresheg @susanalena @thimblelady thank you all for comments and faves,

Love the hall light.......must have been a bit scary out there in the half dark......I once remember driving along a valley in Ireland on a dark rainy day with no one else in sight....creepy! Stunning views to make up though!

@happypat Yes it was Pat .. Part of us was wanting to keep going but lucky common sense won over .. and we turned back.. some where to go next time.
