While getting the washing in this afternoon I could here a persistent chirping behind me.. and here was this very young sparrow out in the big wide world by himself.. I put him back in a near nest but clearly that was not home and he was soon back chirping on the lawn again.. lets hope his Mother comes and finds him..
I have a painting very similar to this Julz. We watched someone painting it at the Royal Agriculture Show at Stoneleigh in Warickshire many years ago from a photo such as this. The little bird has the same massive beak & I loved it then & still love it. Hope your little friend us seen by his mum.
Well, there could be a cuckoo in that nest who chucks him out! They do do that! But you would have seen. They are so vulnerable on the ground when they can't fly properly!
The painting sounds lovely @happypat a relation of mine use to exhibit Dahlia's at that show and my Mum and Dad went to it when they were over there.. you may of been there at the same time..
