I decided this morning that I was due for an early morning and go and get some shots the Sunrise down at the river.. It was a pretty 'soft' sunrise and was about to leave when a guy pulled up and said if I wanted to hang around he was about to let some Racing Pigeon's go.. He had driven 1 hour 20 from North of Auckland and he expected the birds to take about 1/2 hour to make their way back home.. Peek hour traffic for him is going to take him about 1 hour 30 - 2hours to get back home... so the birds are going to be well tucked up in their coops by the time he makes it back..
@dide There was 60 so I hope 60 got back home again.. They were all young birds only about 3 months old, and they are getting trained up for a couple of longer runs ( flights) from Wellington and another from Christchurch..
